Concealed Carry & Home Defense Fundamentals

This course is designed for people who wish to obtain an Illinois concealed firearms permit. The course goes over basic handgun safety and range rules, proper firing techniques, Illinois laws pertaining to concealed carry and live-fire at the range. Includes complete ISP training requirements including live fire as part of the range qualification.

Per the IL State Police requirements this course satisfies the 16 hour training requirement for obtaining a conceal carry permit.

• Homeland Security's color codes of situational awareness (white, yellow, orange, and red)
• Mental exercises to prepare for deadly encounters
• Firearm safety training covering the 4 universal safety rules
• Firearms Basics
• Handgun Fundamentals
• Handgun Selection
• Non-lethal and other use-of-force options. 
• Shooting Fundamentals
• Defensive Shooting and Marksmanship
• Handgun Shooting Fundamentals
• The Legal Use of Force
• Violent Encounters and the Aftermath
• Physiological Reactions to Violent Encounters
• Gear and Gadgets
• Basic and Advanced Skills

This course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how it applies to home- or self-defense. After this class, students will feel confident to act as their family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident.

Additional Fees: 
Range Fee: $15
    - This fee is charged by the range we partner with. We will collect this from students on the first day of class. 

Rentals: $20 
    - If a student would like to rent a firearm from us, the price covers the firearm, and ammunition. 

Cancellation Policy:

Students are required to cancel at least 1 week in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 1 week before the class may not be refunded.
